Forum: GratefulDead Subject: request for good versions of furthur songs w/ good sound

Hi;
Since the cassette days I have been wishing for a 'list' of exceptional audience recordings. For example, to my ears, the recordings uploaded by 'spyder9' on 4-20 and 4-21 have an exceptionally nice full rich sound, good bass, audible vocals, not too many people screaming into the mics.

Has there ever been an overview of posted audience recordings by a seasoned listener who can recognize the occasional superlative sound quality combined with good or better versions of songs played?

If not, maybe a list could be created. Not to diminish the efforts of all the tapers, but to spread the word about an especially good posting.

cheers

From the title of this thread I thought that you were talking about the Furthur Fest. It doesn't sound like you are, but this is a good blog about Furthur Fest recordings. They don't rate the tapes at this blog, but they list all of the available sources.
